The Parent Helper"....let us help you be the boss again!!"
Welcome to The Parent Helper! We hope that this site will assist you in your search for support. Our service provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) consulting to parents of children with typical cognitive abilities and children with significant cognitive disabilities. The strategies we employ, address the child’s behavior that can in turn effect the parent's or siblings' behavior. Thus, we can help you and/or other family members learn how to react (or pro-act) to the child's actions and responses. Examples of what we offer, include teaching toileting skills to young children or children with developmental delay, decreasing disruptive or aggressive behavior, or merely providing consultation and support on positively increasing your whole family's functional dynamics.
We systematically assess the issues, define the problems, and develop suggestions for improvement of target behaviors. We observe children and families in their natural settings and assess behavior that could hinder the ability to develop harmonious dynamics within the home setting. The process involves an observation period, consultation, and interaction with the family and/or child to model a proposed intervention. The Parent Helper also serves individuals with Autism, PDD, MR, and other cognitive or developmental disabilities, by helping parents teach life and communication skills to their children.
Please be sure to visit the "Contact Us" page as we have information on long distant services if you're from out of state (or out of country).
